The Mechs on offer can act as a ‘Get out of Jail free card’ whereby you simply call one in with a rebel drop and finish the fight in seconds. However, I’ve quickly found that any battle, no matter what the scale, can be easily finished by just throwing your enemies away using the gravity gun. I’ve really enjoyed how smooth it is to control the Mech, and the powerful weapons on offer make you feel like a God, ripping your enemies to shreds. The main reason you have this ability is to totally shake up the way you fight in battles, with the simple hold and release of the left trigger flinging whatever you have in your grip for miles on end. Aside from your standard Bavarium Splitter or Autocannon (there are two different Mechs to pick from), your mechanised weapon of destruction is able to harness its very own gravity gun to pick up pretty much anything from the size of a small bush (goodness knows what you want that for) to a huge container.

While we’re not talking robots the size of Titanfall’s titans, the Mechs you can use definitely have the capability to blow anything and everything to pieces. Using the new powerful Bavarium Power Core energy rifle, Rico can disable the Black Hand’s destructive Mechs and give them a taste of their own medicine! However, Just Cause 3: Mech Land Assault thinks machine guns and C4 are a thing of the past – and you would agree with them if you saw what was on offer this time round. Expect to see explosions left, right and centre as you use all of your weapons and skills from the main game to your advantage. The way Rico goes about this is in regular Just Cause fashion. When Rico arrives, he realises that the Black Hand have set up prison camps across the island and it is his job to free the prisoners, start an uprising and rid Lacrima of all the oppression.

The second piece of DLC that Avalanche Studios and Square Enix have released for Just Cause 3 sees everyone’s favourite demolition expert Rico Rodriguez follow the mysterious Black Hand to the new island of Lacrima a relatively small island with four provinces to take over.
